The Saucony Type A racing shoes reach their ninth edition without radical changes, and maintaining a continuity with the previous version. With that characteristic low profile, these Saucony Type A9 maintain that mission of favoring a better impulse that leads you to improve your personal best.
The main update to the Saucony Type A9 fast Running shoes shoe is the revamped Flex Flim upper, which is sleeker and more contemporary with the 3D overlays, and which also favors a more dynamic fit for this specific type of model.
This new update of the Saucony Type A9 also gains a higher degree of breathability, as more holes have been included to make the mesh more ventilated. In addition, the thermo-sealed elements provide more consistency to the whole, while the arrangement of these inner straps favor a better adaptation to the natural movement of the foot.
Saucony Type A9, guaranteed performance in short-distance races
As with the Saucony Type A8, this new version of the American brand's flying shoes does not present any changes in the construction of its midsole. With a single piece, the cushioning capacity of the shoe is left in the hands of the SSL EVA compound. This, together with the low 4 mm drop, makes this model an option to take into account when running fast and competing with great reliability in short distances, mainly 5k or 10k. Something that has already been seen to work wonders in the Saucony Fastwitch 9, another Saucony reference competition model. The idea is for the runner to enjoy a more comfortable, lighter and more reactive stride.
Another significant change that the Saucony Type A9 retains from its predecessor is the outsole pattern. Here, the large transversal and lateral flex grooves are more prominent, and always with the idea of ensuring a more dynamic and faster response. At this point of the shoe also has its relevance the PWRTRAC rubber, more typical of the Peregrine mountaineering saga, and which is able to guarantee exceptional performance.
Saucony Type A9 Technical Specifications
In the technical specifications chapter, these Type A9 from Saucony present a low drop of 4 millimeters, with heel heights of 17mm and 13mm in the forefoot. They are truly a featherweight, because the men's model, in size 42.5EU, weighs just 170 grams. While the women's version weighs 153 grams for a size 39EU.
The combination of this weight and the reduced drop makes these Saucony Type A9 an ideal model for fast runners looking to break records, but also for those who can show off an exceptional and refined running technique.
On the other hand, it is also interesting to note that the American brand's bet continues to maintain in the Saucony Type A9 that feeling of a rather classic racing shoe. In this way, the current trend of including the "controversial" carbon plates, as in the best-selling Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next% models, or even the Hoka One One Carbon X, among others, remains somewhat distant. Although, in this sense, Saucony has already made a clear commitment with the launch of the Saucony Endorphin Pro, which includes carbon as the star material. Thus, the absence of this latest generation material is something that lowers the price of these Saucony Type A9, and is more affordable than the latest developments with carbon.
