We've been waiting for it, and it's here. Saucony has announced the launch of the Saucony Xodus 5. The trail running model, called to become the flagship of the American manufacturer of Running shoes, as far as running in the mountains is concerned. And its release is full of new features compared to the Saucony Xodus 4.
Those who have tried any of the previous versions of the Xodus range have the certainty that one of the hallmarks of this range of shoes is its great comfort, thanks to the Pro-Lock that incorporates the part of the bridge. This provides a perfect fit and optimal support, avoiding unnecessary foot movement with every push-off.
In the Xodus 5.0, special emphasis has been placed on improving both cushioning and grip. And that this trail shoe is designed to adapt to any type of terrain on which you train and / or compete, being suitable for neutral runners and weighing over 70 kilos and over.
As in previous models, the Xodus 5.0 also have a Vibram outsole, enhanced by the Xs Trek compound. This compound is a rubber that helps to increase grip and prolong the life of the shoe, providing greater flexibility to the feet.
The line of lugs is more aggressive, in addition to giving them greater depth.
Another important feature, which is also present in its predecessor, the Xodus 4.0, is its 4-millimeter drop, which allows the body to adopt a more natural posture . It improves stride transition and performance. Although runners who are not so accustomed to such low sole geometries will have to undergo a prior adaptation process to avoid major problems and possible injuries.
The midsole of the Xodus 5.0 brings with it the combination of two Sauconys trademark technologies: PowerGrid and EVA SSL (Saucony Super Lite). Both are spread over the entire surface of the shoe, which offers lightness and great recovery capacity.
And to all this we have to add a weight that slightly exceeds the 'psychological barrier' of 300 grams (303 grams), and that includes the Saucony Xodus 5 in the segment of training shoes, but that call attention for their perfect balance between durability and weight.
The fifth version of the Saucony Xodus is a reference for trail running lovers, and its number of followers is growing steadily. We are already looking forward to test them. We will soon bring you the corresponding review.
