Year 2016

In the new installment of Saucony 's legendary Xodus trail running model, everything has changed, including the name. What was to be called the Xodus 7 has given way to a new nomenclature: Xodus ISO . A complete and total renovation for a model that has a significant number of improvements, and which also reflects the trend of the American firm to improve the runner's experience in its high-end shoes. And since it is also included in Sauconys reference list, the Xodus ISO also incorporates the most cutting-edge technologies from the Lexington (Massachusetts) brand.

The new name of the Xodus has its raison d'être in the incorporation of the exclusive ISOFIT system in its upper, from which it takes its new name. The technology features a bootie structure, with part of the tongue sewn in, which allows for an optimal fit, thanks to the support provided by the lacing system. This favors a more natural movement and minimizes pressure points. A big plus for the Xodus ISO, which is a shoe with a softer and softer feel, and adapts to the movement of the foot.

Quality leap with EVERUN cushioning system

As one of Saucony's heavyweights, the Xodus ISO also comes with the innovative EVERUN cushioning system, which extends throughout the shoe. This is one of the notable differences from other models from the American company, such as the Saucony Peregrine 6, where the EVERUN layer is restricted to the rear area of the shoe. With the EVERUN, the Xodus ISO gains incushioning and improved midsole response.

Another of the great innovations of the Xodus ISO is in its completely new outsole, in which Saucony has opted to dispense with the collaboration with the Italian brand Vibram to integrate a proprietary material: the PWTRAC. It is a rubber compound that provides more traction than conventional rubber, and features a hexagonal pattern to adapt to a wide variety of terrains, especially the most technical ones.

The outsole also features the Tri-Flex configuration, already tested in other models such as the Saucony Ride 9, for example. This system improves the traction and grip of the shoe.

Other new features of the Xodus ISO

More details that do not go unnoticed in the new Xodus Iso are the RUNDRY system, present in the inner lining of the ankle collar and tongue, which allows you to run dry at all times, also improving breathability and comfort of this model for running in the mountains.

On the other hand, the Toe Shell technology reinforces toe protection. And although the Xodus ISO is oriented to a neutral running profile, it can also be used by runners with mild pronation, thanks to the support element that gives the model greater stability in the heel area.

All in all, the new look of the Xodus ISO has also allowed for a reduction in the shoe's weight, which is around 300 grams (size 42.5EU for men. Height: 29mm heel and 25mm forefoot) and with a low-profiledrop of 4 millimeters. So, the Xodus ISO will perform well over medium and long distances, being an option to take into account for medium and heavy runners.

One last detail, the Xodus ISO also includes in its catalog a GTX version, that is waterproof, but whose great novelty is that the Gore-Tex membrane disappears, and this is replaced by the FlexShell system.
