The firm Scott already has some years of experience in the sports world, although its foray into running itself is recent; but the company has already managed to position itself thanks to the quality of the products it offers, mainly its shoes, including the Kinabalu edition, one of the favorites of trail running lovers because it offers comfort, support and excellent performance regardless of the terrain on which they are used.

But the company wanted to diversify and has added the Scott Kinabalu Supertrac to its catalog, an edition that maintains the features that have made this model stand out, but with an important detail: the shoes are designed for use on wet terrain.

Upper features

The upper is designed with a micro-hole mesh, with some padded supports on the sides and in the heel area to provide greater comfort and allow the shoe to fit firmly to the foot.

In terms of ventilation, we miss a little more airflow to the inside, as the feet tend to get a little warm, it is also important to note that the shoes are not waterproof; if they are going to be used in wet conditions, the upper materials absorb water, although they also have the quality of drying very quickly.

The upper has supports made of synthetic material that are located in the toe and heel area and protect the foot from bumps with rocks or other obstacles that we find on the road. A more rigid support is located in the heel area and keeps the foot in place while wearing the shoes.

The Scott Kinabalu Supertrac v 2 shoes have a snug but not restrictive fit. The shoes fit via thin laces that allow for consistent lacing that doesn't come loose. The tongue is quite cushioned so the thin laces don't get in the way.

Midsole

The midsole uses Aerofoam technology which is a softer and more resistant material than the traditional EVA, with this material we get a better cushioned, lighter and more durable shoe. Although at first glance the shoes give a robust appearance, the truth is that thanks to this compound included in the midsole, very light shoes are achieved, ideal for achieving good speed in technical terrain.

This is complemented by the eRide technology, a support that allows a better transition of the footprint between the heel and the toe area. The rocker shape of this midsole causes the landing to occur with the heel, if you are a runner used to landing with the midfoot area, the landing sensation will feel a bit strange, but the cushioning is still very efficient.

Outsole

The outsole is constructed in one piece and uses quite prominent lugs designed in a V-shape; the orientation of the lugs varies in the heel and forefoot to make the shoes change its traction as we run uphill or downhill. The outsole rubber is quite soft, allowing it to perform excellently in providing grip and traction on wet terrain.

The Scott Kinabalu Supertrac are very efficient and comfortable shoes for technical terrain, their quality materials give them excellent durability that will undoubtedly make them resist even the most adverse conditions wherever we take them.
