The running shoes Skechers GoRun med Speed is the flying of the american brand. The shoe designed for competition aimed at neutral runners up to 80 kg for fast paces under 4 m/km.
The brand designed this model specifically for marathon runner and Olympic medalist Meb Keflezighi.
For those who have tried the GoRun 2 will find differences with the Speed. The main one is that lumpy feeling under the plantar arch. That sort of rocker that has become so popular among runners and that makes it easier to step with the midfoot or forefoot as Skechers calls it. In the Speed this sensation is much less. It is a flatter shoe. Although it maintains the 4mm drop, there is not as much difference in height between the heel, midfoot and forefoot.
The midfoot is still higher, meaning that the first support is with the midfoot, which acts as a kind of rocker towards the toe. This is due to the oval shape of the sole, although as we mentioned, this sensation is less noticeable in this model.
A carbon plate has been placed underneath the sole, which gives the shoe excellent stability and rigidity. The consequence of this development is that when accelerating the pace, the shoe becomes more reactive.
Compared to the GoRun 2, the flex cuts also disappear, allowing the midsole to gain consistency for faster running.
The outsole continues to have a kind of beads that in this model are flatter and in the tests we have performed offer a very good grip.
