Under Armour Horizon RTT

The Under Armour Horizon RTT are shoes specially designed for trail running that are incorporated into its extensive catalog of sports footwear. Despite Under Armour 's short trajectory in trail territory, its incursion has already made it clear that the American firm is capable of offering top-level shoes, and that they stand out for an excellent balance between quality of materials and performance.

In its commitment to the trail, the UA Horizon RTT also arrives with another traveling companion, the Under Armour KTV, although the Horizon RTT model stands out for providing a higher degree of protection, and a more aggressive sole design.

UA Horizon RTTT Shoe Upper

The upper of the UA Horizon RTT is made from a successful combination of textile mesh and polyurethane overlays, offering maximum strength and durability on the toughest terrain, while providing protection, regardless of the demands of the race itself.

These polyurethane layers extend the entire length of the shoe, except for the heel area. In addition, the small perforations in the upper serve to provide better ventilation. However, an opportunity for improvement of this Horizon RTT for future editions will be in enhancing the breathability of the model, especially for hot days; as well as the drainage of the shoe for rainier days.

Although with a very particular tongue design, it perfectly fulfills the mission of offering comfort both in the upper and in the instep area, which favors a better fit. For its part, the collar is made with a very well padded material, which wraps the foot without having the feeling of being tight, and provides comfort.

The inside of the shoe has a seamless lining that keeps the feet comfortable at all times. An important detail to consider in these shoes is that the polyurethane lining, while exceptionally protective to the feet, also adds more weight. So, the bottom line is that the UA Horizon RTT is not an efficient shoe when it comes to increasing speed, but it does offer exceptional performance on more technical and difficult terrain.

UA Horizon RTT Midsole

With its 7 drop, the Under Armour Horizon RTT strikes the perfect balance between stability, cushioning and responsiveness. The cushioning is provided by a layer of EVA rubber that extends throughout the midsole, which thanks to its design achieves firmer characteristics than other rubbers used in other models of the competition.

In the heel area is the ChargedCushioning system for added comfort during the impact phase, while improving the transition from heel to toe.

UA Horizon RTT Outsole

The outsoles of the Under Armour Horizon RTT are made of a highly resilient rubber, but they don't exclude a certain degree of flexibility.The 5 lugs are quite aggressive and allow the outsoles to respond well to different types of terrain, even on rocky surfaces.

One thing to note about the lugs is that they do not have a standard multi-directional design, yet the Under Armour Horizon RTT is still able to perform well and deliver great performance.

Built for durability, the UA Horizon RTT are ideal for trail running, being a model that offers great resistance and excellent protection, and having waterproofing and ventilation as areas for improvement and revision. We have already said that its drop is 7 millimeters, and has an approximate weight of about 278 grams, which makes it a rather light model.
