The American manufacturer of satellite navigation systems has decided to give a new impetus to its Vívoactive smartwatch range, and orient them more towards training. The Garmin Vívoactive HR is a new update of the well-known Vívoactive, which, in addition to adding the features of its predecessors, also includes the latest technologies of the Kansas brand.
As with the first version of the Vívoactive, the HR model is also the ideal sports gadget for practicing different sports disciplines such as cycling, swimming, running, golf, skiing, and also rowing. With the added valor, and its great novelty, that brings with it the exclusive Garmin Elevate technology, which allows to measure the heart rate with its sensors on the wrist with the advantage that it is not necessary to use any additional chest strap. In addition, this new Garmin smartwatch provides more accurate and detailed information on heart rate and calories burned throughout the day.
With the Garmin Vívoactive HR's integrated sports apps, GPS included, they record all physical activity statistics, while the option to activate smart notifications ensures that the user is connected at all times. All information is accessible and easy to manage with its high-resolution touch screen.
On the other hand, and thanks to its accelerometer, the Vívoactive HR also works as a daily activity monitor, as it counts the accumulated steps and floors climbed, but also allows you to track the time of rest while the user sleeps.
Another of the most cutting-edge technologies and Garmin's own, and that is present in this latest version of the Vívoactive, is the Move IQ. An automatic system capable of detecting the physical activity that develops at a particular time, and even when the athlete has forgotten to activate the home button.
As in many of the latest generation of Garmin devices, the connectivity of the Garmin Vívoactive HR is one of its strengths. And is that this smartwatch automatically synchronizes to Garmin Connect, taking into account that the Smartphone that is available is compatible. In this way, the user has direct access to all your results, so you can evaluate your progress and also receive motivational tips to overcome their goals.
Through the Connect IQ store, and its free downloads, the Vívoactive HR can be customized to the consumer's taste, adding different information widgets. But not only that, because this Garmin device also offers the option to set up vibration alerts for sections as relevant as the pace or the athlete's own heart rate. Other illustrative examples are the Auto Pause or Auto Lap functions, very practical for training sessions, or the detailed post-race summary, which offers variables such as calories, average pace and total time, among others.
In the chapter of autonomy, the Garmin Vívoactive HR has a rechargeable battery of 8 days in watch and activity monitor mode, and up to a total of 13 hours if the GPS is activated.
