Adidas Futurecraft 4D

Adidas will increase its production with the new advances in technology for it will manufacture its sneakers with 3D printers. We already talked in 2017 about the Adidas Futurecraft 4D one of the many models that the German brand will manufacture with such technology. Although Adidas has already designed privately with 3D printers for professional athletes, the Adidas Futurecraft 4D will be the first Sneakers to be marketed. And we advance that it is a very small production in its first silhouette. It will be around 100,000 pairs of Futurecraft 4D that will see the light.

The technology used for this shoe is called Continuous Liquid Interface Production, which allows to manufacture an insole through resins and liquid polymers that change to solid state with ultraviolet light. To this process is added the Carbon technology, named after the Sylicon Valley startup where this manufacturing project originated, which allows for greater mass production and speed that cannot be achieved with the layer printing that Adidas has been using so far.

According to the company, with this new technology, it is possible to achieve shoes with more flexible results. The dark side of this new technology would be the ability to produce very unique pairs. This would lead to the production of very limited editions of Sneakers, which would increase the price of all these sneakers and consequently the resale market. For the moment the brand has also announced that the starting price of these Adidas Futurecraft 4D will initially be higher than the price range it is offering in its current catalog.
