Adidas X PLR

For some time now we have seen how Adidas has been using their most popular technology, the Boost cushioning, in the vast majority of their sneakers, becoming their main calling card and what has brought many of their editions back to fame. With this in mind, era hard to think that Adidas would part with one of its most important features to design a shoe with a more minimalist and multipurpose style, in which they have not added Boost technology.

However, Adidas has done just that with the release of the Adidas X PLR, a sneaker that in terms of design is very similar to the Adidas NMD, but without Boost. A simple, versatile and comfortable design that comes as a redefinition to what we had already seen in Adidas.

Adidas X PLR Design

The sneakers feature a mesh construction in the upper with a similar design to the NMD, with the difference that on the sides of the shoe have been placed some synthetic reinforcements that offer a better structure to the shoe.

On top of these reinforcements are the three characteristic lines of Adidas which are made with a reflective material to facilitate visibility in low light conditions.

Comfort and cushioning

The shoe's cushioning is provided by a layer of compression-molded EVA foam in the midsole. This material provides good shock absorption in different conditions and makes the shoes very comfortable.

On the inside of the shoe is a fabric that offers a soft, sock-like feel. To add comfort to the interior is the OrthoLite technology that Adidas has already successfully implemented in other editions of sneakers. The insole in addition to being comfortable has antibacterial properties that keep the interior fresh and odor libre.

For the outsoles, a rubber compound is used to offer durability against wear and tear, while the geometric pattern provides traction on asphalt terrain.

The Adidas X PLR shoes offer a fairly casual style, but still capable of adapting to a variety of sporting activities. Their level of cushioning and comfort make them a great option for court sports, for wearing to the gym, or simply for going for a walk thanks to their modern style that adapts to any situation.
