The oldest in the place will remember those mythical times when before the release of an album or a product you would meet with your friends and spend several hours outdoors waiting in line in front of a store to buy it. Sometimes you got it and you felt like DiCaprio in Titanic, the king of the world, sometimes you didn't and you went home with a bad face.
Well, something like that happened again at the end of 2015 with the launch of the AdidasYeezy Boost 350. A pair of sneakers that were a hit. It was the end, the shared hysteria or, to paraphrase Caesar, a come, see and conquer... and convince!
Adidas'Yeezy Boost 350 sold out within hours of going on sale. The brand and the ineffable Kanye West, the first non-athlete designer to work with Nike, let's not forget, once again hit the nail on the head.
In Spain, the sneakers flew out of the nine stores where they went on sale: four in MadridAdidas Originals Store, Foot Locker de Preciados, Nigra Mercato and Sivasdescalzo), four in Barcelona (24 Kilates, Adidas Originals Store, Foot Locker de Puerta del Angel and Limited Editions) and the Elite store in Marbella.
Due to the large number of reservation requests they received a few days before these sneakers went on sale, stores like the Madrid-based Sivasdescalzo held a raffle on Facebook for those who wanted to opt for a right to purchase... so on the day of the launch of the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350, the website was blocked due to the large number of visits received.
The result? There are bids on eBay that put this model at around ?1,500.
A few months later, Adidas released the Yeezy Boost 350"Pirate Black". That is, this model in black color, with a slightly larger print run than the previous one, and that in our country could only be purchased in stores in Malaga, Madrid and Barcelona. It has not been the only spin off of this model, as the Yeezy 350 Boost Low, more oriented to the summer, or the Yeezy Boost 350 "Oxford Tan" also appeared.
But it was clear that Adidas was aware of having a golden goose, so soon saw the light of day a new sneaker model signed by West, YeezyBoost 350 V2. The result? Head on over to the Adidas website, and take a look. Sold out.
First of all, we have to say that we are talking about a model that is a trend in itself, a phenomenon. But if we go in to unpack, for example, the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 we find a sneaker with a white Primeknit upper, a distinctive center seam and a heel reinforcement. The semi-translucent rubber outsole and TPU sidewalls give this model a "striking" effect, according to the brand, and also provide superior traction, while the midsole uses Adidas ' innovative Boost technology for a "durable, responsive and impact-resistant" outsole.
The Yeezy Boost 350 thus combines quality with trend. Undoubtedly one of the sneaker phenomena of the last decade.
