The Nike Air Max Plus was first released in 1998, since then it has become a top seller for all these decades until today. After having undergone all kinds of variations in their manufacturing, they have now been consecrated with their OG version. They have also excelled in their "TN" version, named after the Tuned Air that characterized the first model of the Nike Air Max Plus. This model has been perfectly embraced in international streetwear fashion, where sneaker heads are looking for a link to the shoes of the past adjusted to current urban fashion touches.

Origins of the Air Max Plus

To go back to the beginnings of this model, it is appropriate to highlight the importance of other models and technologies of the American brand, such as: the Air-Sole unit, first seen in 1978. And the debut of the Air Max 1 in 1987. Then came the Air Max Plus, in 1998, with its outstanding feature of showing the Air Sole unit only in specific parts of the footprint, with the intention of providing runners with greater stability and support, under attractive designs of wavy lines, which were inspired by the American beach, where the wind produced a strong wave. That's where the inspiration for this wavy effect came from, which is actually very similar to the effect left by the waves of the sea on windy days. All this was made possible by veteran designer Sean McDowell, who was already designing this idea, even before he started with Nike.
