The upper structure features some reinforcements at key points of the shoe that help keep the foot in place and offer greater durability to the shoe. To achieve better stability and a more durable construction in the ASICS Gel-Fit Tempo 3, the Californa Slip Lasting system is used, in which the entire upper of the shoe is bonded with a layer of EVA rubber that in turn is stitched directly to the midsole of the shoe. Thanks to this finish, the shoe is bonded more securely and provides greater protection for the foot.
The midsole of this shoe uses a layer of dual density EVA rubber which provides good shock absorption and stability; this way the shoes are versatile enough to adapt to gym workouts or even to be used as Running shoes.
The cushioning of these shoes is completed by the use of ASICS' GEL technology. A gel capsule has been placed in the heel section of the shoe which allows for increased cushioning for this area, especially in high impact exercises such as running. One of the main qualities of this gel is that it attenuates shock while helping to distribute energy through the shoe to ease the transition to the toe area, making the stride more fluid and smooth.
The outsole of the ASICS Gel-Fit Tempo 3 is made of AHAR rubber, a highly abrasion-resistant rubber that the company has used in a large number of shoe models. The outsole design, which incorporates pivot points, makes traction more efficient on smooth surfaces, for example when working out on wooden tracks or on the ground.
