ASICS 33 DFA 2

The ASICS 33-DFA 2 shoes are focused on runners who are new to running and have been provided with a good number of attributes that guarantee comfort, stability and support for the runner's foot. But not only that, thanks to their characteristics, they can also be adapted to daily use, for a casual outing, a walk, to take them to the gym, or simply to be comfortable in our day to day.

This versatility of the shoes comes from their seamless construction and padded interior, which not only fit the foot properly, but also allow for greater comfort, even if the shoes are worn without socks.

Upper

As mentioned, the upper of the shoe has a seamless construction; this upper is a fairly simple design combination between a highly breathable mesh along with some sealed synthetic overlays, which offer a good structure to the shoe and keep the weight contained. Being seamless eliminates irritation points, resulting in a shoe that is ideal for long wear.

Unlike its predecessor, this time some of the synthetic overlays have been removed and the mesh has more open holes. A synthetic toe protector has been added in the toe area, which is made of a durable yet flexible material that provides adequate protection without adding weight to the shoe and without making this section narrow or restrictive.

Midsole

Two of ASICS' best technologies are used for the midsole. The ASICS 33-DFA 2 uses Solyte material, an extremely lightweight but highly durable compound, which sits just above the outsole. This is a very firm midsole that is primarily responsible for providing the cushioning of the shoe.

On top of this material is a layer of Amplifoam, a material that is also very lightweight and durable. This rubber is a bit softer compared to the Solyte, but overall it allows it to provide a superior level of cushioning that will keep the foot comfortable both during runs, as well as when using the shoes on a daily basis.

The midsole also features ASICS ' DFA -Deep Fluid Axis- technology, which gives the shoe its name. This technology consists of deep grooves that extend through the midsole and help improve flexibility and natural foot movement while running.

Outsole

A contact rubber composed of a tread pattern makes up the outsole. There is a substantial amount of grooves, which are intended to provide support to the 33 joints that make up the foot, for greater flexibility and better transition during stride.

In addition to this, AHAR rubber is located in the heel area, which is more prone to wear due to constant use of the shoes. This addition offers greater durability to the soles and also allows for adequate traction for this section of the foot.

Fit

ASICS continues to use a finish based on the anatomy of the foot that provides a medium build fit in the forefoot, midfoot and heel areas, as seen in the previous edition of this shoe. For narrow to medium feet, this fit is perfect, although for those with wider feet, a half size larger may be needed.

The ASICS 33-DFA 2 shoes are very versatile and are well suited for both daily running workouts, as well as if we want to use them casually, thanks to their performance and design.
