The search for the "Holy Grail" of the major Running shoes manufacturers is focused on designing models that provide great cushioning but with the lowest possible weight. ASICS is closer to this premise with the new DynaFlyte, a shoe that embodies the perfect combination of lightness and cushioning.
First key: Great lightness
Why is it light? Because, using the latest technological innovations, the Japanese brand has pulled out all the stops to make this top-of-the-range cushioning model weigh less than 300 grams, making it by far the lightest ASICS shoe in this segment. Specifically, it weighs close to 270 grams in the men's version for a size 42.5 EU.
In addition, its upper, designed in a single piece, reinforces the idea of building a lighter shoe.
Second key: Good cushioning
Although it also has a lot to say in the lightweight department, ASICS' innovative patented FlyteFoam system allows the DynFlyte model to have responsive cushioning. The result is a top-of-the-line shoe that is very well cushioned, very light, and capable of keeping up with the runner's pace with every stride, regardless of the distance they are running.
Third key: Innovative FlyteFoam midsole
The FlyteFoam system is not a new concept from ASICS, because, looking back, this technology has already been used in its luxury model Metarun, launched towards the end of 2015. However, the ASICS DynaFlyte has the privilege of being the first shoe from the Japanese manufacturer to feature this system in its purest form.
Thus, the FlyteFoam runs the entire length of the shoe, and is made of an organic memory fiber that facilitates a quick return to its original state. With this innovative midsole construction, the runner is able to carry less weight as they move forward, losing less energy with each stride. All this translates into a more efficient run, while being able to maintain your cruising speed, no matter the distance you run.
Fourth key: Provision of other cutting-edge technologies
Although the most innovative feature of the ASICS DynaFlyte is in its FlyteFoam midsole, its performance is not reduced exclusively to this system, but the combination of different cutting-edge ASICS technologies also results in the shoe acquiring the top-of-the-range label of the Japanese brand.
- Trusstic System: Reduces the weight of the sole, while maintaining the integrity of the structure of the model.
- Solyte Midsole: This is a very light material that increases the shoe's cushioning and durability, even more than the EVA and SpEVA systems.
- Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.): The technical-philosophical concept present in most of the ASICS Running shoes catalog. It contributes to the most natural running possible, since the design of the model adapts to the natural movement of the foot in its impact phase.
- ComforDry: A premium-grade insole that guarantees great rebound, great breathability and sensational moisture management.
- AHAR: Acronym for High Abrasion Resistance Rubber, an air-inflated rubber compound that improves grip and durability by being placed in the most critical areas of the outsole.
- GEL Cushioning System: GEL cushioning system that offers great responsiveness in the impact phase, minimizing impact. It also allows for a smoother transition in the support phase.
Fifth key: Design endorsed by the ASICS Institute of Sport and Science.
With all these reinforced fibers, capable of preserving the cushioning properties, FlyteFoam technologybecomes 55% lighter than standard EVA rubbers on the market, as confirmed by the Japanese brand.
In addition, the ASICS DynaFlyte is backed by the development and research seal of the ASICS Institute of Sport and Science in Kobe (Japan), which has always had the figure of the runner as the central protagonist of the research. "With Dynaflyte, runners will be able to experience the full purity of FlyteFoam. We are very pleased with this launch and look forward to seeing how FlyteFoam helps runners maintain their speed," says Dr. Tsuyoshi Nushiwaki, Executive Officer, Senior General Manager, ASICS Institute of Sport and Science.
In short, the ASIC DynaFlyte enters the scene as a new option for all those runners who are interested in a light, fast and highly cushioned shoe. "This new DynaFlyte shoe is able to maintain the potential of all runners while making them feel its lightness and cushioning", feelings that remain for the promising American sprinter, Candance Hill, one of the emerging values of international athletics.
