ASICS Gel Cumulus 16

We present the Asics Gel Cumulus 16. Little by little we are unraveling the new developments of ASICS as far as the Running shoes market is concerned. And there is no month in which the Japanese brand announces a new novelty.

After the latest releases of the Gel Nimbus 16 and the Gel Noosa Tri 9, now, the latest to arrive is called: Gel Cumulus 16. A new update of one of the favorite running shoes for neutral runners, or slight pronation.

This version, and we are now at number 16, does not represent a turning point, nor does it bring with it a revolutionary change. Plain and simple, the design and construction of the Gel Cumulus 16 focuses on an update of ASICS systems and materials.

One of the highlights of the Gel Cumulus 16 is the incorporation of the Fluidride system in its midsole, which provides increased fit and cushioning. And this shoe is able to improve the rebound response on landing with the heel, offering greater energy return and a longer duration.

Also noteworthy is the reduction in weight. Slightly lower than its predecessor with 300 grams in its male version.

Another inclusion with which this shoe gains in performance is the Impact Guidande System (IGS) that contributes to an optimal transition in each stride.

It can be said that the Asics Gel Cumulus 16 draws attention for a bold design with up to three different color combinations for both men and women. And to top it off, located on the inside, the ComforDry material is indicated to prevent odor and reduce moisture.

Recommended runner type

Medium to heavy runners for medium to long runs at paces slower than 4:30 m/km.

• Front Gel cushioning system. Silicone compound for shock absorption.
• Fluidride. More efficient cushioning, less weight and more durability.
• Guidance Line. Increased gait efficiency.
• Orientation Trusstic System. Lightweight support system for additional torsional rigidity and increased stability.
• Impact Guidance System (IGS). Optimal heel to toe transition.

UPPER

• Open mesh to provide breathable coverage.
• Personal Heel Fit(PHF). Custom fit thanks to dual-layer memory foam lining in the heel collar area.

INTERIOR

• ComforDry. Anti-bacterial insole to prevent moisture and reduce odor.
• Strobel. Foam that enhances cushioning and a more comfortable underfoot feel.

OUTSOLE

• Asics High Abrasion Rubber (AHAR). Made with carbon rubber for increased durability.
• DuraSponge. Consists of an outsole placed in the forefoot, and is made of a blown AHAR compound, enhancing flexibility and cushioning.

Women's version

The new GEL-CUMULUS 16 for men is available in two colors (orange / gray and lime) and in two colors for women (pink and aluminum / blue).
