Features of the ASICS Gel Excite 4

The upper of the shoe is where we will see the most changes from the previous version, with a more sophisticated design that surge from the elimination of the overlays that looked unaesthetic on the predecessor. In their place is a suede material that promises greater durability and better support for the foot.

The midfoot section has been improved with the modification of the ASICS logo, which is now integrated directly into the overlays of the upper, and not just attached as a decorative element as in the previous version. This modification not only gives it a more defined look, but also helps to improve the support of the shoe in this section of the foot.

The other material we will see in the upper is the excellent ventilation mesh which for this new shoe has larger holes for greater airflow. ASICS continues to use 3M reflective materials on the sides to improve the runner's visibility when running in low light conditions.

ASICS ' patented SpEVA rubber is present in the midsole, this rubber has the characteristic of being lighter than traditional EVA rubber and is responsible for virtually all of the cushioning in the ASICS Gel Excite 4 shoes.

Underneath the SpEVA layer is ASICS' familiar GEL system, which contributes to the cushioning and has become one of their best technologies. In these shoes the material is specifically placed in the heel area and helps to absorb the impacts that occur when we impact the ground using this section of the foot first, something common in runners in the initiation phase.

As with the vast majority of shoes ASICS has recently released, the outsoles make use of AHAR compound, which covers virtually the entire surface of the soles to ensure durability. In key areas, such as the forefoot, blown rubber is incorporated to offer increased traction. For added flexibility, some grooves have also been added to the forefoot, improving the toe-off phase of the foot during running.

Fit of ASICS Gel Excite 4

The fit remains the same as in the previous version of the shoe; the heel and midfoot are slightly tighter to provide better support, while the toe section has more room to provide ease of movement. This type of fit is most flattering for those with slim or medium build feet.

The ASICS Gel Excite 4 shoes are an excellent upgrade to the previous edition, which has taken into account the comfort of the foot and the optimization of movements during the race.
