ASICS GEL Flux 6

The sixth edition of the Asics Gel Flux 6 arrives, a shoe for running on asphalt and distances up to half marathon. It is a model aimed at runners who are just starting to run or who run to get in shape, clear their heads, lose weight and not so much for competition. A very versatile running shoe that you can also use for walking.

The differences with respect to the Asics Gel Flux 5 are very important. First of all, starting with the design. Now its style is more modern, with a new upper or upper without seams and very breathable. A new lacing arrangement, with flat laces and a soft and high tongue that offers a good fit of the foot minimizing friction.

The heel area has also changed, Asics has reinforced the area to avoid unwanted movements of the foot during the race. Important changes also in the midsole. It is a shoe with medium cushioning that does not use the latest technologies in foams developed by Asics but has an interesting combination between its Amplifoam foam and the classic GEL of the Japanese brand, now with greater presence than in the previous model.

We are talking about running shoes whose sensations when running are that of a firm touch that offers a correct and sufficient cushioning if you are a runner of light or medium weight and preferable distance up to 10-12 kilometers. Although, as we mentioned before, in light weight runners you can reach distances up to half marathon. They are perfectshoes to get you started in running at slower paces, slower than 5 m/km, without spending too much money and to have a single pair of shoes for everything, running or walkingshoes. There will be time later to look for more specific models if you decide on specific distances or faster paces.

Main technical features of the Asics Gel Flux 6

The Asics Gel Flux 6 has a 10 mm drop. It is a high drop oriented to landing with the heel area, hence the GEL reinforcement in that area to minimize the impact. The weight of the model is around 250 grams in a European women's size 37. And 290 in a men's European size 42.

The sole is completely renewed. Gone is the plasticized reinforcement we saw in the midfoot area in the previous version, and we now find one protected by a practically complete rubber layer that ensures good durability and traction. The previous model could perhaps be considered a shoe for mild pronators, this model however is clearly oriented to neutral footsteps.

It has a range of colors between black, navy blue, green that combine very well with more sober outlooks.
