ASICS Gel Hyper Tri

To date, the iconic GEL NOOSA TRI range from ASICS is one of the choices of many triathletes to cover the running segments of long-distance triathlons. It is even a good alternative that popular runners do not discard for their sporting challenges, read marathons or half marathons.

At the moment, the GEL NOOSA TRI 10 is the latest update to hit the market, improving, even more if possible, the performance of this reference model.

However, ASICS has gone one step further and introduced the GEL HYPER TRI. A particular nod to athletes who enjoy participating in short and medium distance triathlons. The performance of the GEL HYPER TRI is designed to compete at distances such as super sprint, sprint and Olympic. Top triathletes such as Fernando Alarza, Carolina Routier, and Portuguese Joao Pereira already have them in their closet ready and willing to compete in the different events of the World Triathlon Series of the 2015 season.

Innovations of the GEL HYPER TRI

Inspired by the Hyper Speed 6 model, this is a lightweight, flying, neutral running shoe in which the key factor is speed. The GEL HYPER TRI is capable of offering maximum performance so that you can cover the last ten kilometers of an Olympic triathlon at cruising speed. And, as with the GEL NOOSA TRI, its eye-catching design is also made to fit and lace up quickly, and shave those precious seconds off the clock in every transition.

Its 6 mm drop and 190 grams of weight are already a statement of intent. The GEL HYPER TRI is a model for running at high paces, under 3'30'', so it is a shoe suitable for experienced runners with good running technique and weighing no more than 70 kilos (medium or light weight).

Midsole

Here we find the great innovation of the GEL HYPER TRI: the new system that ASICS has baptized as 'Magic Ventilation'. An opening to improve breathability, draining water and wicking moisture away from the feet. An exclusive feature that, for the moment, is only available in this model from the Japanese brand.

Sole

In its design, the decision is focused on a successful combination of technologies. On the one hand, Durasponge has been incorporated in the front part, which makes the shoe gain traction, comfort and durability. On the other hand, the heel area is reinforced with AHAR+ rubber, which offers greater resistance to abrasion. In addition, the hidden rear GEL contributes to improve the cushioning of the model.

Upper

With a similar aesthetic to the NOOSA, the upper of the GEL HYPER TRI also comes seamless, and features a triathlon-specific mesh.

This model includes elastic laces for quicker lacing, which, along with the tongue and heel pull tabs, allow you to make your transitions with little to no downtime. Very easy to remove from the shoe.
