Year 2017

With a history dating back to 1949, ASICS has always sought innovation in its shoes in order to offer runners the best performance according to their needs. Under this concept ASICS Gel Kenun shoes are launched, the new addition to the catalog of the firm, designed for supinator runners, offering mainly protection and comfort.

ASICS arrives this 2017 with a good catalog for supinator runners, who normally cannot find such a wide offer of running shoes as in the case of pronator runners; however, the Kenun have been provided with a design that will not only be able to offer the best support, but also adds the best technologies of the firm to achieve a shoe with great performance.

Upper features

The upper is made with a soft fabric that allows greater comfort for the feet and adjusts better to the shape and movements of these. Perforations in the upper allow excellent airflow into the interior, making the shoe cool enough to be worn all day long.

The upper construction is seamless, reducing the likelihood of irritation caused by stitching or seams. New to this shoe is the use of an OrthoLite inner lining, which helps provide a softer and more comfortable environment for the feet, while maintaining airflow inside the shoe.

To complement this, an OrthoLite insole is also used, which is known for its comfort and has been used by the firm in many of its shoes; other features of this insole is that it helps control moisture inside the shoe and prevent the growth of bacteria that can cause bad odors.

Midsole

The midsole of the ASICS Gel Kenun uses Solyte technology, which is a rubber material that is lighter than the traditional EVA and SpEVA rubber designed by ASICS for other editions of its shoes. Thanks to this compound the weight of the shoe is decreased, but the cushioning that the feet need during the running cycle is maintained.

A flex groove extends in a vertical line along the midsole and allows supinator runners to achieve better foot strike balance, while making the transition from heel to toe smoother and more efficient.

To complete the cushioning,a GEL capsule isplaced in the heel area, which helps to better absorb energy from surface contact and distributes it throughout the midsole to optimize the stride.

Outsole

The soles use a highly abrasion-resistant rubber. In the heel area we can see the shoe's gel system exposed, while the midfoot to toe section uses a different rubber which provides traction and durability. To reinforce the key areas of the outsole a blown rubber is used to add traction and contribute to better rebound.

The ASICS Gel Kenun are part of the Fall 2017 catalog and thanks to their performance they become an excellent choice for supinator runners looking for a lightweight, comfortable shoe with the best foot protection.
