The new release of the emblematic Gel Noosa from ASICS Running lands on the market with a complete renovation and a change of concept, although it still maintains the essence of being one of the reference models, and suitable for covering all types of distances, minimizing the loss of time in each transition.
What would become the Gel Noosa Tri 12 have new nomenclature, leaving behind the correlative succession of numbers, and give way to the letters. Thus, this iconic model of the Japanese brand is called Gel Noosa FF. This double FF has its origin in the incorporation of the innovative FlyteFoam technology of ASICS. Although it is also true that the characteristic numbering of the Noosa does not disappear completely, because it appears stamped on the upper of the shoe.
Also striking is the change in the look of these Gel Noosa FF with a completely different aesthetic from its previous editions, which has been modernized, opting for fewer and simpler thermo-seals, without so much ornamentation. In addition, these thermo-seals, together with the upper mesh, draw a kind of star, and provide better support to the midfoot area.
The ASICS logo appears silkscreened on the mesh of the model, while the midsole is not as overloaded as in previous models, and only the name Noosa appears, in relief, and using the midsole's own compound.
In short, a cleaner design and simpler lines, although still betting on colorful shades that do not go unnoticed, but it can be said that the ASICS Gel Noosa FF have even a certain air of Sneakers, or casual sneaker.
As has already happened in the recent launch of the MetaRun 2017, ASICS has opted to include its innovative FlyteFoam technology. The Japanese brand itself claims that the FlyteFoam resource not only brings more cushioning to the model, but also makes it a lighter option, as it reduces the weight of the shoe by 25 grams less.
On the other hand, the Gel Noosa FF also has as another great novelty its seamless construction, and a perfect finish of its upper. An upper that also stands out for being made of a technical mesh, which provides greater breathability. The absence of seams drastically reduces the risk of physical discomfort caused by friction and irritation.
In addition, the shoe features the Wet Grip system in both the heel area and tongue, resources designed to improve transitions.
There is also a substantial change in the sole of the Gel Noosa FF, which no longer uses the characteristic ASICS Trusttic System, and has opted to introduce a rubber compound that runs practically throughout the shoe, which improves the grip and stability of the model.
The key that gives the Gel Noosa FF the label of being a model designed for triathletes lies in two aspects:
Like its predecessor, the Noosa Tri 11, the ASICS Gel Noosa FF maintains the 10-millimeterdrop, but by incorporating the FlyteFoam compound, the weight of the shoe is significantly reduced to 255 grams in the men's model, and to 205 grams in the women's version.
