August is the month chosen for the presentation of the Asics MetaFuji Trail, the new shoe from the Japanese brand designed for faster runners. A model that lands on the market to revolutionize the showcase of trail running models of the Japanese company.
The Asics MetaFuji Trail is a trail running shoe that ASICS has been developing and testing for the last few seasons. In fact, it was with an advanced prototype of this shoe that Andreu Simón won last year's The North Face Transgrancanaria.
ASICS is one of the brands with the widest catof trail and running shoes and adapts to all runner profiles and, with this new model, offers a new option for faster runners.
This is the second model of the brand that has carbon plate in its range of trail running, currently has the ASICS FujiSpeed 2, a carbon plate that will provide us with the necessary reactivity to run quickly through a wide range of terrains.
The carbon plate is complete, from heel to toe, but to avoid excessive stiffness or penalization in the most technical terrains, both in the rear and in the front it is divided in two to provide better adaptability to the mountain terrain.
The midsole presents one of the great novelties of this model, as it has a combination of the most outstanding technologies of the brand, the FF Turbo and FF Blast +, an amalgam that raises the response to levels of excellence.
For its part, the outsole features the brand's star compound, the AsicsGrip, which works so well and is one of the compounds that provides greater grip and durability.
The design features lugs, with less prominence than those present in other trail models of the brand such as the ASICS Trabuco 12 as it is not a shoe for running on overly technical terrain.
This is a shoe that does not adapt to a wide profile of runners, but rather the opposite, it is a shoe that runners with a great running technique will be able to get the most out of its performance.
Light to mediumweight runners (over 70 kg) with a neutral stride and good running technique can adapt to the characteristics of the shoe to run fast on a wide variety of terrains, with the less technical ones being where this new model will perform best.
Regarding the target distances of these trail running shoes for men and women, and taking into account that it is a model of 261 grams of weight and only 5 millimeters of drop (within profiles of 44 and 39 millimeters) we are talking about a model for medium distances and high paces, within what we could call non-technical routes.
In short, we are facing the second bet of the Japanese brand to incorporate the carbon plate in the most advanced and high performance models for mountain running and that will delight the fastest runners over long distances.
