Mizuno Wave Creation 17

The Mizuno Wave Creation 17 comes with a nice amount of optimizations compared to its previous versions. Mainly in terms of cushioning, durability and support, making this model for neutral runners an option not only for training, but also for long distance races. A mixed shoe to use.

The 17th edition of this shoe features a revamped upper with a more contemporary design. The reflective material that was part of the design of the previous shoes has been improved, so it not only reflects better in the dark, but also offers a brighter appearance to the shoes that will be one of the first aspects that will call this update of one of the longest running sagas of Mizuno.

Upper adaptable to the movements of the foot

Continuing with the upper, the shoes incorporate AIRmesh which is a breathable and comfortable material that responsively wraps the foot at all times. In this edition it has a more open construction so air circulates better and constantly to keep the foot cool.

Dynamotion Fit technology continues to be present as in previous editions. This is a design that allows the shoe to adapt to the natural movements of the foot, so the fit will feel comfortable even when the foot moves.

The synthetic materials used for the collar, tongue and interior of the shoe offer optimal comfort, and even allow the shoe to be worn without socks. Reduced stitching avoids chafing points that could cause irritation or sores with constant wear.

Lighter midsole

Mizuno maintains the use of its U4ic foam for the construction of the midsole of the Mizuno Wave Creation 16. This material is up to 30% lighter than traditional foamsbut does not sacrifice any of the cushioning the runner needs.

Added to this is the Mizuno Infinity Wave technology in the heel area. This technology allows it to actively redistribute impact energy through the foot, improving cushioning and stability for the runner.

More flexible outsole design

The outsole design features Mizunos signature X10 material, which is a layer of high-strength rubber that extends full-length from the heel to the toe area. It not only protects from abrasion and adds durability to the shoe, but also functions as an additional layer of cushioning for the foot during ground contact.

SmoothRide engineering is a design that allows for a rocking chair-like motion throughout the run, facilitating a more fluid foot motion. The pattern of both lugs and grooves placed in the outsole design work together to provide flexibility to the toe area during toe-off, as well as a solid platform during contact phase.
