Today we talk about the Mizuno Wave Ibuki, a new trailrunning shoe, designed for mountain runners but with certain elements, which we will detail below, and that provide versatility suitable for those who are new to this world. Its curious name,"Ibuki", has its origin in a traditional Japanese breathing technique used to recover energy and generate strength to prepare the body for new challenges. Among its features we highlight the new knitted mesh and the specific sole for mountain and grip. In addition, you can find this same model in GTX version with Goretex upper for those who like to go to the mountain in worse weather conditions and keep your feet dry.

Mizuno Wave Ibuki

Let's talk about the performance of this model, in the midsole the EL8 system occupies all the protagonism. It is a Mizuno compound that maintains a level of cushioning similar to the classic EVA, but nevertheless, it is somewhat lighter, to be specific 10% less. In this way we reduce the weight of the shoe while maintaining the performance we are most interested in, as in this case the cushioning. Of special relevance in trail running shoes. Also, in this area has also incorporated the well-known Mizuno Wave technology, a platform with small wave shapes that stand out for an ideal level of shock absorption, while greater stability.

On the other hand, the upper of the Mizuno Wave Ibuki has been elaborated with the so-called Knitted fabric, it is as in many other models of Running shoes an upper made of knitted fabric that provides versatility to the shoe while keeping the foot with an optimal fit. In addition, being a seamless mesh , comfort is increased because it considerably reduces the risk of chafing and also reduces the weight of the shoe. It is a thermosealed upper that perfectly joins all areas of the Wave Ibuki. As a last detail, we note that the Gusset tongue has been included, which will prevent stones or weeds from entering while running, small details in which the Japanese brand has placed emphasis in order to make the user feel comfortable and not worry about anything.

We also want to take this opportunity to announce that this same model can be found in the GTX version, that is, the one that includes the Goretex membrane for those who prefer a fully waterproof and breathable upper, although we recognize that it is somewhat heavier.

The outsole has been designed for trail, so it has the X10 technology , an anti-abrasion material that has a specific pattern depending on the area of the shoe to ensure grip on different mountain terrains. In fact, in the central area there are X-shaped lugs that favor multidirectional traction, while on the edges the lugs are V-shaped, specifically designed for steep terrain.

Finally, to finish with the technical specifications, the weight of the shoe varies according to gender. The men's version weighs over 300 gr, 325 gr to be more exact, while the women's version weighs 275 gr. The drop is 10 mm.
