Photos Mizuno Wave Inspire 14
1 / 4Edition after edition, the Mizuno Wave Inspire series has been one of the most sought after and demanded references by the pronator runner profile, whose priority is to find a daily training model that offers stability and cushioning in equal parts. The fourteenth release of the Mizuno Wave Inspire, a running shoe optimized for heavy runners, between 70 and 80 kilos for men and between 55 and 65 kilos for women, is still in force.
Mizuno Wave Inspire 14 vs Mizuno Wave Rider 21
The best thing about the Mizuno Wave Inspire 14 is that it has been completely redesigned from top to bottom in order to improve responsiveness and comfort. This without giving up the classic essence of the Inspire model.
Midsole
With the idea of maximizing its cushioning capacity, the Mizuno Wave Inspire 14 does not lose sight of the characteristic and famed U4ic and U4icX compounds, but these are combined with a new distribution of Mizuno's exclusive Wave system. This time, the Inspire 14 features a Wave platform with double Wave foam in the internal area, capable of correcting over-pronation.
Thus, the effective combination of convex and concave shapes - what Mizuno calls CloudWave technology - contributes to the runner enjoying greater elasticity and a smoother transition in each step from the heel to the forefoot area of the shoe. This also translates into the ideal balance between stability and reactivity for moderate pronators.
Upper
The upper of the Mizuno Wave Inspire 14 has also been revamped with a mesh material, through which a much more breathable feel is achieved, while the support is also noticeably lighter.
The anatomical insole of the Mizuno Wave Inspire 14 comes to offer more support in the plantar arch area, an element that, without a doubt, is also included in the list of resources aimed at correcting overpronation of the footprint. The collar part is also lighter and softer, so the overall computation is that of atruly luxurious feeling underfoot.
Outsole
In this part of the Mizuno Wave Inspire 14 there are also significant changes, because the designers of the Japanese brand have prioritized improving the traction of this training shoe. To this end, they have chosen to adjust the layout of the flex grooves, while improving the design of the rubber compound.
Thus, and taking the Mizuno Wave Inspire 13 as a reference, this latest installment of the Japanese company in the Inspire family does implement a series of modifications to the outsole, but it maintains its optimal performance and durability.
As in the Mizuno Wave Inspire 13, these renewed Wave Inspire 14 maintain the 12 mmdrop, and the weights do not vary too much with 310 grams for the men's model and 260 grams for the women's version. These weights are perhaps a bit high considering the competition, especially in men's running shoes.
