1 / 4The long-awaited Mizuno Wave Inspire 18, the running shoes for overpronators par excellence, have arrived. A new model that provides the necessary support and stability, as is typical in this legendary line. Designed to run distances between 10K and marathon, these multipurpose shoes are excellent for both training on asphalt and racing. This time, the Japanese brand has released a new update that offers slight changes compared to its predecessor and is available for both men and women. Stay tuned for more details!
Mizuno Wave Inspire 18, main features
The new Mizuno Wave Inspire 18, a model of running shoes specifically designed to prevent overpronation, has arrived on the market. The main new features of this new update are the Double Fan-shaped Wave foam and the improved upper.
The midsole of this new model incorporates the Mizuno ENERZY foam in the heel area, a legendary and super effective technology that stems from the Mizuno brand. This foam stands out for its cushioning capacity and reactivity in running, it also offers an unprecedented energy return achieving a reactive stride. Smoothness is not far behind, thanks to SmoothRide technology, rapid acceleration and deceleration is minimized, achieving much smoother transitions.
- Mizuno ENERZY: foam that provides fluidity and reactivity.
- SmoothRide technology: for smoother, more dynamic transitions
But that's not all, the Japanese company has evolved another of the technologies that incorporates the midsole, getting a more effective running shoe than its predecessor, the Mizuno Wave Inspire 17 The reactive foam is added to the new Double Fan-shaped Wave technology with greater support that helps control foot movement avoiding excessive pronation. It also retains the U4ic compound in the midsole, which provides comfort and performance during the stride and allows greater effectiveness and smoothness in running.
- Double Fan-Shaped Wave: Undulating foam located as a platform with different heights to provide excellent cushioning and stability.
- U4ic Compound: Extremely lightweight midsole compound that provides cushioning and rebound
Another new feature of this update is undoubtedly the improved upper. A new redesign that does not incorporate major aesthetic changes compared to the Mizuno Wave Inspire 17, but offers a seamless fit specifically designed for superior fit and comfort. The brand has thought of everything, unprecedented comfort along with maximum technology to avoid chafing. It has also implemented breathability with AIRmesh technology, achieving an impeccable air transition and greater comfort while running.
- Improved upper: with a seamless fit for greater comfort.
- AIRmesh technology: improved breathability
In the outsole, Mizuno has chosen to incorporate its most durable compound to date, X10 carbon rubber, a material that guarantees perfect traction and grip on asphalt. After its success with the previous version, Mizuno continues to think about its users and offers a durable outsole with high resistance to wear.
- X10 carbon rubber: increased traction and durability
Mizuno Wave Inspire 18 Technical Specifications
This eighteenth edition of the Mizuno Wave Inspire saga never ceases to amaze us with its high level of cushioning and running comfort. These features are also shared with the Mizuno Wave Rider 25, another of the company's most legendary series.
The Mizuno Wave Inspire 18 features a classic 12 mm drop with a weight of 295 grams, 10 grams heavier than its predecessor. These running shoes for heavy pronator runners are perfect for running at paces around 4:30-5:30 min/km and medium distances.
