Mizuno Wave Legend 4

Catalogued as an initiation shoe for all those runners who take their first steps in the running universe, the fourth version of the Mizuno Wave Legend combines the most advanced technologies of the Japanese brand with a completely renewed upper to improve the running experience of the athlete.

As in its predecessor, the Mizuno Wave Legend 3, the cushioning in the Legend 4 incorporates the usual and exclusive Mizuno Wave system, which is made of Pebax. However, the midsole of the Mizuno Wave Legend 4 is also reinforced with two foam compounds. On the one hand, the EL8 material, which claims to be 10% lighter than the standard EVA, and maintains the same cushioning performance, while increasing the reactivity of the shoe. This EL8 compound is located in the upper part of the midsole, and is distinguished by its white color. With this material, the Japanese firm makes the Mizuno Wave Legend 4 able to guarantee a more comfortable and efficient run for the runner.

And on the other hand, regarding the heel area, there is another Mizuno's trademark compound, the AP+, which, in addition to enhancing the cushioning capacity of the shoe, contributes to prolonging its lifespan.

Also, the Wave Legend 4 comes with the SR Touch system that provides extra softness for runners who heel.

In the outsole, the Mizuno Wave Legend 4 also maintains the dual compound so common in the models of the Japanese firm. The X10 in the rearfoot area, a carbon compound of greater hardness and resistance compared to the more conventional ones; and the Blown Rubber in part of the forefoot, where this softer material is used to offer more grip when taking impulse.

Completely renewed upper

The great novelty of the Mizuno Wave Legend 4 is located in the upper of the shoe, since its upper has been completely renewed. Mizuno has decided to introduce the Airmesh technology, which, apart from providing a fresher and more modern touch, also provides a great breathability to the model.

The upper of the Wave Legend 4 is made with a triple layer, which results in a lighter feel, but also in an improved fit when you start striding.

Its high drop of 12 millimeters and 305 grams of weight mean that the Mizuno Wave Legend 4 is oriented to a runner profile of neutral footstep and medium weight -no more than 80 kilos-, being suitable as a training shoe to cover medium distances, and over medium paces both on asphalt and dirt roads.
