The launch of the renewed Mizuno Wave Mujin 6 is already a reality, and as it corresponds to one of the most emblematic trail running shoes of the Japanese company, it presents a remarkable evolution, if we compare it with its predecessor models. Of course, Mizuno has bet big, and this is noticeable, and felt, in this renewed silhouette for mountain running.
This new update of the Mizuno Wave Mujin 6 does not lose its essence of being a trail running shoe designed for long distance in mountain terrain, and that offers maximum protection, and even in the most uneven terrain, and under all weather conditions. Carrying the Mizuno seal, this model, as it could not be otherwise, also provides superior cushioning with optimal stability, and a more than significant responsiveness to meet any challenge you set yourself in your adventures in the mountains.
Compared to previous editions, this new update of the Mizuno Wave Mujin 6 maintains the Michelin outsole, which offers exceptional grip, as well as contributing to greater resistance to wear. The same outsole also includes the Xta Grip system, which makes traction more adaptive to the needs of the trial runner.
The U4icX material in the midsole of this trail running shoe reinforces the feeling of more reactive cushioning, and even incorporates the exclusive and innovative Float Wave technology as a great novelty, which contributes to the softer cushioning capacity of the model and favors the natural movement of the foot.
In the upper of this sixth edition of the Wave Mujin from Mizuno there are also notable changes, especially in the eyelet holes, and with which a firmer but also more comfortable fit is achieved.
So, analyzing the main advantages of the Mizuno Wave Mujin 6 over previous versions, and what we have already seen in the Mizuno Wave Mujin 5, this is what you should keep in mind, mainly:
Comfort level midsole.
The combination of FloatWave and U4icX foams in the midsole of these Wave Mujin 6 from Mizuno makes this trail running shoe add a lot when it comes to enjoying a more comfortable cushioning, and also to carry out smoother transitions.
Custom fit
With a change in upper design, especially in the lacing area, the Mizuno Wave Mujin 6 ensures a smoother, more personalized fit while limiting restrictions for a more natural foot motion. All of this is concentrated in the new arrangement of the vertical holes in the eyelet.
Outsole incorporating XtaGrip technology
Undoubtedly one of the most important innovations of the Wave Mujin 6, XtaGrip technology is a more adaptive construction of the outsole to improve traction and grip on virtually any mountain surface. To this we must also add the efficiency provided by Michelin's durable rubber outsole.
Regarding the technical specifications, these Wave Mujin 6 have a lower drop than in previous versions, staying at 10 millimeters. While its weight is around 380 grams for the men's version, and 330 grams for the women's model. It is clear that cushioning, protection and comfort are more important than speed.
