The running shoes Mizuno Wave Prophecy 5 is a shoe for neutral runners that offers excellent foot feel, flexibility and comfort. It is one of the best shoes created by Mizuno for daily training and is well suited for both medium and long runs on asphalt.
Mizuno 's most popular line of training shoes receives a few optimizations in its fifth edition. For starters, it has a more open mesh to improve foot breathability, a modification that seems simple, but has given these shoes greater comfort.
Another important modification is that a support system made of highly resistant plastic has been placed in the heel area; the function of this support is to improve the fit and support of the foot and "wrap" it so that it remains secure and in place throughout the race.
Some additional layers have been placed in the upper to enhance the structure of the shoe; these layers have been strategically placed to provide support in the areas of the foot that are needed, while leaving other areas more free so that the natural movement of the foot is not restricted.
As has become Mizunos custom, the midsole of the Mizuno Wave Prophecy 5 has been provided with their best technologies. From the heel to the forefoot we find the U4iC foam that does an excellent job absorbing the impact of the foot with the ground and improving the responsiveness of the shoe.
A network of grooves or holes specifically designed by Mizuno are found throughout the midsole in what is called Smooth Ride Technology, which aims to allow for a smoother stride. The Intercool system is a series of ports that perforate the entire midsole of the shoe and provide a higher level of breathability.
Finally, there are two Wave technologies that give the shoe its name; first there is the Infinity Wave thermoplastic in the heel area, which absorbs shock and returns impact energy for a smoother ride. In addition to this, near the forefoot is the Extended Wave system which is made of the same material as the Infinity Wave, however it has a more articulated design that functions as a force distributor on landing and as a propulsion factor during toe-off.
The fit of the shoes is achieved thanks to the Dynamotion Fit system, a material used in the upper that conforms to the shape of the runner's foot providing comfort and security without the Mizuno Wave Prophecy 5 shoe feeling tight. The mesh used in the upper attaches directly to the waves and ports of the midsole to improve the breathability of the shoe and provide a libre environment that will make runs much more pleasant and comfortable.
