Today we bring you the long awaited release of the Mizuno Wave Shadow 2, a new version of the Running shoes from the Japanese company. Despite the few changes that have been made, we highlight the lightweight cushioning with a U4ic and Cloudwave midsole that favors the transition in the tread and is combined with the new upper fit thanks to the Dynamic Fit technology. We recall that this saga was born as a replacement for the 2017Wave Sayonara and aims to please old users as well as newer ones.
Mizuno Wave Shadow 2, new upper and better fit.
Getting into the performance of the Mizuno Wave Shadow 2, in the midsole it combines the U4icX and U4ic foams. The former is in the heel area for a softer ride, while the latter is in the rest of the midsole for shock absorption. With this, we expect that the feel of this area will be softer than in the first version of the Mizuno Wave Shadow. Also, in between this dual system is the well-known Mizuno Cloudwave plate, for those who don't know it, it is a plastic wave plate that favors shock absorption while increasing responsiveness.
The changes in this second version of the Wave Shadow, are focused on the upper is the area, in fact, has been made with a new mesh in the forefoot and has been redesigned overlays. On the one hand, the latter change improves breathability and reduces irritation, while the mesh we were talking about has been improved. In addition, it has opted for Dynamic Fit technology which provides a superior fit and grip to the foot.
The outsole of this model remains almost identical to that of the first version, with the usual durable X10 carbon rubber used in Mizuno Running shoes. While in the forefoot, the zigzag pattern provides additional flexibility for improved stride.
In terms of technical performance, the Mizuno Wave Shadow 2 has a fairly light weight of 210 gr and the drop is amntained at 8mm.
Type of runner
The Mizuno Wave Shadow has both men's and women's versions of Running shoes. They are a mixed running shoes with which to roll fast in races up to half marathon and quality training (series for example). Also for competitions due to their good combination of cushioning, reactivity and lightness. For paces below 4.30 m/km and weights up to 80kg.
