The Mizuno Wave Sky 3 has officially landed . And like any new update, this cushioned running shoe comes with more comfort and softness than previous versions. In fact, the Japanese brand itself has assured that this Wave Sky 3 tries to provide that feeling of floating, even when running long distances.

Despite the numerous changes that include these renewed Wave Sky 3 from Mizuno, the essence remains the same as a running shoe with maximum cushioning for heavy runners, which exceed 80 kilos, and neutral footprint, even for runners who pronate slightly.

Mizuno Wave Sky 3, what's new - photo 1

Mizuno Wave Sky 3, new features to keep in mind

On this occasion, the product developers of the Osaka company seem to be committed to implementing a new concept of the exclusive Wave platform. A system that appears divided into two innovative and next-generation technologies, which come to improve what we have already seen in the Mizuno Wave Sky 2. We are talking about the combination of the so-called Foam Wave and XPOP, thanks to which the model adds a higher level of cushioning, while increasing the energy return in each step. These implementations allow the Wave Sky 3 to present a more flexible, comfortable and stable platform.

What do these two new technologies bring to the Wave Sky 3?

  • Foam Wave: This system is based on two soft materials, arranged in that characteristic wave shape, which translates into a structure designed to absorb impacts. But it also provides greater stability in each step.
  • XPOP: Polyurethane foam in the midsole for ultra-soft cushioning, which also contributes to greater rebound, especially when mileage is high.

To all this, in these Mizuno Wave Sky 3 we also find the star materials U4ic and U4icX, whose mission is to reinforce that feeling of superior cushioning, more flexible and reactive, and without adding more weight to the shoe.

Engineered AeroHug mesh, more adaptive fit

There is also a change of look with a more updated and modern touch. It is also necessary to highlight the construction of its upper with Engineered AeroHug mesh, built with a double layer to wrap the foot, through a more adaptive and secure fit. This avoids seams, as well as the sock-like tongue, which adds comfort, while generating a feeling of greater speed.

The only changes contemplated in the outsole of this renewed model are concentrated in a greater number of Flex Grooves, which add more support, especially towards the heel, and more stability.

Mizuno Wave Sky 3, weight and drop - photo 3

Regarding the technical specifications, these Mizuno Wave Sky 3 maintain the 10 millimeters drop, and a slightly lower weight compared to the Mizuno Wave Sky 2, and this latest version remains at 320 grams.

In short, the new Mizuno Wave Sky 3 are Running shoes designed for long distances, and oriented to that profile of runner who enjoys superior cushioning, and also with the idea of wearing an efficient model, capable of offering a great return of energy.
