It is well known that when the terrain is not in its best conditions, it is difficult and even unsafe to go out and train. This excuse is not valid with the new Salomon S-Lab Speed 2. No matter if it rains or snows, if the terrain is wet or slippery, this model is designed for mountain races whatever the weather and the surface.
The great novelty in this model is the new upper, much more breathable without neglecting the support it provides to the entire surface of the foot. Being breathable, surge always the question of whether some kind of dirt enters through those points. This is not the case with these trail shoes, as these strategic ventilation windows prohibit the entry of dirt beyond the surface.
The EVA midsole provides a low-to-the-ground feel and makes it easy to keep your footing while keeping you off balance. The tread is sure-footed and, thanks to this, offers a natural freedom of movement.
The weight is 260gr with a 4mm drop. The level of durability is maintained with respect to the previous version and they are perfect for racing in the mountains.
As for the sole, the French brand has kept the same design due to its great efficiency, but with a small novelty to increase safety. It has arrow-shaped lugs, which allow to adapt and adhere perfectly to both dry and wet surfaces. The Salomon S-Lab Speed 2 has become a trail running shoes to compete with a highly responsive aerodynamic design, and that adapts to all types of surfaces.
