A year has just passed since its last update, and a major model such as the Salomon S-Lab Wings has once again introduced changes in what is already the eighth version of this successful saga, designed to face the most technical terrain with maximum guarantees.
The French company is once again taking advantage of the autumn season to bring out all its innovations in sports footwear for running in the mountains. And there is no doubt that the Salomon S-Lab Wings 8 is one of its reference models.
As it is a specific model for technical descents, the new S-Lab Wings 8 is focused on providing the runner with superior performance and grip. To this end, the Annecy-based company has created a more resistant, durable and supportive upper. This can be clearly seen in the additional thermo-sealed mesh in the forefoot, which serves to increase protection. In addition, in the lateral areas, the Salomon S-Lab Wings 8 incorporate a kind of ribbing, thanks to which the shoe gains in more consistency and firmness.
Regarding the midsole, the S-Lab Wings 8 continues with the same line as its predecessors. The Salomon S-Lab Wings 8 features the innovative Premium Wet Traction Contragrip compound, which the French company claims offers up to 4 times more traction than the conventional compound, even on wet surfaces.
Of course, in the Salomon S-Lab Wings 8 are also present the most advanced technologies of the French brand, read: EndoFit, SensiFit or Profeel Film, among others.
Downhill control
The various protection systems, in terms of fit and grip, work in unison to make the S-Lab Wings 8 capable of creating an advantage when facing technical descents.
Cushioning
The finely tuned two-piece midsole generates an optimal degree of softness underfoot, regardless of the terrain.
Comfortable support
EndoFit and Quicklace SensiFit technologies combine to wrap the foot in excellent comfort while enhancing safety and protection. This gives the mountain runner precise performance, especially on technical descents.
