The Salomon Sense Pro 2 are quite versatile trail running shoes with which we can face a variety of surfaces with ease and comfort. Thanks to their design they are able to offer the feel of a racing shoe, but with the cushioning and durability of a training shoe. Lovers of technical terrain will enjoy the excellent level of grip, stable platform and comfort of these shoes.
For this version, Salomon has wisely considered the improvements that users had proposed, mainly in relation to the midsole and outsole, the result of this change is a running experience that maintains the essence of the original version but with greater comfort.
The upper incorporates a quick-drying mesh that is also very breathable, which will keep your feet dry and cool throughout your run; although the upper is not waterproof, the quick-drying material helps to avoid discomfort in case your feet get wet.
The combination of Endofit and Sensifit technology, which the company has used in other editions of the shoe, means that the Salomon Sense Pro 2 offers an excellent fit. The first of these technologies is a fabric that wraps the foot comfortably, while the Sensifit system is a combination of layers and fibers that help provide security for the feet. A quick lacing system allows for a better fit of the shoe and a lace pocket prevents the laces from coming into contact with objects and getting stuck.
The fit is slightly different from the original model. In this edition we will no longer see a shoe as narrow as the previous one, however the feeling of lightness and speed remains intact. Those who prefer a narrow fit to the foot, obviously without being restrictive, will find themselves comfortable with the way these shoes accommodate the contours of the foot.
A new technology is incorporated into the midsole of this latest version of the Sense Pro. The company has opted for a new foam to make up the EnergyCell+ system to significantly improve the responsiveness of the shoe. This technology works in conjunction with a compression-molded EVA rubber layer and a lightweight LT Muscle rubber layer to achieve better cushioning and shock absorption. This combination improves the feel of the midsole from the very firm rubber of the previous version to a softer but equally responsive compound.
Just below these layers in the midsole is the ProFeel Film system, which helps protect the sole from sharp objects and loose material without sacrificing surface feel.
Salomon uses a special rubber compound in the Wet Traction Contagrip technology to give the soles better grip on different types of surfaces. The lugs, this time placed around the outsole, are slightly larger and more aggressive. This allows the Salomon Sense Pro 2 soles to perform better on technical terrain.
The rest of the details of the shoe remain faithful to the previous edition; the changes that the firm has made in this edition will undoubtedly allow a better feel of the race, with greater comfort and protection for the feet, so that we can move more safely.
