The Salomon Sense Pro 3 are trail running shoes that stand out for their versatility and with which we will be able to deal with a variety of surfaces. Thanks to their design they are able to offer the feel of a racing shoe, but with the cushioning and durability of a training shoe. The grip, its platform with a great contribution in stability and comfort characteristic of this well-known line of shoes in Salomon lead it to become again a successful model.

Differences between the Salomon Sense Pro 3 Vs Salomon Sense Pro 2

This new model of the Sense Pro line has been launched in 2018, with the aim of improving those small details that users have asked for with respect to the previous version. That is why we are going to offer you these differences in detail:

  • In the Pro 3 the fit has been improved, expanded the use of the Sensifit system throughout the entire shoe, accompanied by an excellent thermo-sealing to reinforce the areas most sensitive to wear.
  • The new model is composed of a multi-layer Mesh that improves protection, continuing with that characteristic quick-drying touch that we already saw in the previous version.
  • The outsole has changed completely, for this third version has been used a premium Wet Traction Contagrip outsole, the best of the French firm so far with a significant change in the lugging. An outsole that stands out for its versatility, durability and superior traction. A change that will be greatly appreciated by those runners who want to run long distances on difficult mountain terrain.
  • The outside of the heel has been reinforced to improve protection and stability in this important area in trail running shoes.

For the rest, the silhouette continues to maintain the aesthetic style rejuvenated by the brand that seems to be so popular with mountain runners, and that has nothing to do with the classic shoe manufacturing to which we were accustomed in Salomon.

Upper features

The upper incorporates a multilayer mesh very beneficial for quick drying on rainy days, in addition to having a high level of breathability, so you can be sure that with these shoes your feet will stay dry and cool throughout the race. Although it is not a waterproof upper, the quick-drying material helps to avoid discomfort in case your feet get wet on the trail. The systems used to build this upper have been Endofit and Sensifit, the same that were used in the Salomon Sense Pro 2. They also carry with them the QuickLace quick lacing system patented by the brand more than ten years ago, so you can get a custom fit.

Midsole and outsole

Salomon uses a special rubber compound, which this time has been upgraded to the premium version in Wet Traction Contagrip technology to give the soles a better grip on different types of surfaces. In these Sense Pro 3 the pattern has changed, they still maintain the same thickness in the tread pattern, but now they are more spaced in this multidirectional pattern, with which you will get better traction. In the midsole, the Energy Cell Plus technology is still present to offer that energy return at the level of the most powerful brands in the market, providing superior cushioning and durability.
