During The Running Event, the fair par excellence where the big brands of sports retail are present at the end of 2023, Salomon presented different novelties for this coming season, one of them was one of the great novelties for 2024, the new Salomon S/Lab Spectur.
The Salomon S/Lab Spectur is a running shoe that features a carbon plate and is already available from this May 2024.
We have fast shoes for the elite, like the Salomon S/LAB Phantasm 2, and now, with the S/LAB Spectur, we have a speed shoe for the rest of the running population. For people who have goals, but don't go in with the idea of winning. Gatien Airiau, Salomon products line manager for road running and elite distance runner
Salomon continues its strong commitment to running with the launch of this model, which has been designed to provide runners, in their daily training, with the same performance benefits that elite runners experience in races thanks to its cutting-edge shoes.
The Salomon S/Lab Spectur is the result of more than two years of work by the design and innovation team to make this model a reality in which a series of tests and trials have been carried out with high performance athletes to make a truly efficient shoe, under the name "The Democratization of Speed".
The shoe's midsole features a dual-density PEBA Energy Foam+-based foam just under the foot and an Energy Foam located just under the carbon plate for extra stability.
The energy FOAM+ top layer is made from premium PEBA material for great energy return and good cushioning and reactivity.
The dual-foam layer teams up with the shoe's rocker shape to make propulsion easier and enhance the rocker effect by moving the pivot point further back than it would be in an elite runner's shoe.
At Salomon, we believe that performance is a matter of mindset and commitment rather than pace and time. That's why we maintain that everyone who trains to improve their personal best deserves a shoe that will help them achieve it. Marlene Giandolini, Salomon sports and consumer scientist.
The Energy Blade carbon plate is full length in order to provide a balanced transition in each of our strides. The carbon plate has small stabilizing wings on the sides of the back of the plate to provide a little more stability.
The Contagrip outsole has two distinct parts, with more rubber in the front to provide greater durability and grip. Being a fast shoe, the forefoot is the part that will be more in contact with the surface.
Whether our goal is to run a marathon in less than four hours or to complete a 10 km road race in less than 45 minutes, the Salomon S/LAB Spectur provides the same sensations for regular runners as a racing shoe.
The Salomon S/Lab Spectur is one of the brand's lightest running shoes, weighing approximately 232 grams in the men's version. This means that light to medium weight runners with a neutral stride technique will be able to get the most out of the shoe's performance.
As for the drop of the shoe, it will be 8 mm, with relatively high profiles as it will have 38 mm in the heel and 30 mm in the front area of the shoe.
In short, this is one of the fastest running shoes of the brand thanks to the carbon plate that incorporates and that will delight the fastest runners and also for popular runners, for medium and long distances.
