The Salomon Supercross 4 are shoes made specifically for mountain running, mainly on decomposed and muddy terrain. Therefore, we are talking about a model the greatest virtue of which is its superior grip, especially when the terrain or the weather is wet. Its tread pattern and blocking allows us to run even on the most rebellious trails without worrying about anything but to keep moving forward.
Another of the most outstanding aspects of this trail running shoe is its fit and support for any type of surface and footprint, ensuring that the foot remains stable at all times. This stability is accompanied by a greater comfort than it may seem, so we can use the Supercross 4 for miles and miles.
Undoubtedly, this Salomon model is aimed at those trail runners who train or compete in muddy or wet terrain, or where weather conditions are adverse. Although it is a comfortable shoe, it requires some experience to be able to wear them, since the firm structure coupled with deep lugs may not be to the liking of all the public, especially for those runners who are used to training with a more cushioned shoe. It will be in the middle distance where these Supercross perform best, even being able to show them off in marathon distance if we have a good running technique.
Despite being a fairly aggressive shoe, the Fuze Surge EVA midsole provides a cushioned and comfortable feel worthy of mention, while providing the necessary reactivity to launch the foot on those greasier terrains where the shoe tends to sink.
The SensiFit webbing gives this model a very comfortable and personalized fit, ensuring safety with every step. The upper is made of a nylon material called Ripstop, a fabric with reinforcements that prevent the upper from tearing and premature breakage. In turn, this lining is breathable and very soft to the touch. As usual in the French house, we can not forget the Quicklace lacing system, adjusting the shoe perfectly with a simple pull.
One of the main weapons of these Salomon Supercross 4 is its very adherent Mud Contragrip sole. To do this, the designers included deep, spiky lugs that are herringbone-shaped to nail the foot well in the muddiest and softest terrain.
These shoes weigh in at 303 grams and have an 11mm drop, with a 21mm profile in the forefoot and 32mm in the heel area. They are available to the public for an RRP of 120€.
