Salomon is in full reconversion, and good proof of this is the release of some of the most special and innovative trail running models. If in this 2022 it has been the turn of shoes like the Salomon S/Lab Genesis, 2023 will come with another bread under the arm thanks to the Salomon Thundercross.
The Salomon Thundercross will be a trail running shoes that will take time to arrive, but we will have at the end of 2023, facing the winter season next year. An aggressive yet technical model that will provide an efficient alternative for all those difficult outings on technical and even muddy terrain.
What are the expectations for the new Salomon Thundercross?
These Thundercross are a new trail running model from Salomon inspired by the models of the Speedcross line from the French company. With a similar philosophy to them, it is a model that will provide more cushioning and reactivity thanks to its Energy Foam midsole system. A compound that is becoming popular in the latest models of the house and that offers smoother and more fluid transitions.
It is a model very similar to, for example, the Salomon Speedcross 6, but, unlike these, discards the Energy Cell + midsole to offer that Energy foam mentioned above. In addition, we are talking about a model with a 4 mm drop, compared to the 10 mm drop of the Speedcross, and which will probably weigh less than 300 grams.
The aggressive outsole will maintain the idiosyncrasy of Salomon's Cross models, with a prominent and multidirectional tread pattern up to 5 millimeters thick. A model designed to offer the greatest of security and stability even in the most complicated workouts.
Salomon Thundercross Runner Profile
Knowing all these details and characteristics of the new Salomon training model, we can be sure that it will be a model oriented to medium weight runners. It is possible that runner profiles over 75 kilos can use them efficiently thanks to the improved midsole, but the aggressiveness and technicality of its structure will make them fit better with middle-weight runners used to technical terrains.
To summarize, we are talking about a very complete model for men and women, but somewhat more niche in terms of terrain and distances. Although it has features that will allow you to enjoy them for kilometers, its target distance will be short and intense technical outings.
