The Salomon X Alpine Pro shoes presented by the brand for 2019. It is a hybrid shoe that combines two existing models in the French firm, the silhouette S / Lab XA Alpine next to the XA Elevate. Mostly to the Elevate model, but some features have been taken from the XA Alpine, a shoe fully recommended for winter. From the personal experience of a group of athletes who have created their own designs in trail running shoes, based on different hiking and running products, Salomon designers have opted to develop a product capable of adapting to the most complicated and technical terrain in the mountains. So you can say that the basis of the new Salomon X Alpine Pro has its influence on the characteristics of:
Trail running shoe, because it adds weight characteristics, such as: comfortable tread, lightness and secure fit.
Climbing shoe: There are also attributes of models designed for climbing and climbing, offering greater protection and better grip on different surfaces.
The well-known fastening system of the Salomon brand has been added. This same consists of a padded fit inside and that characteristic Zig Zag in the upper that provide a firm and secure fit around the side of the foot and that also ends up forming part as reinforcement of the eyelets of the laces. To achieve a durable trail shoe that can cope with difficult mountain terrain, Salomon has opted for a seamless double-layer upper, to which numerous heat-sealed reinforcements have been added throughout the shoe. The most prominent in the toe area, where it has been considerably enlarged compared to the Elevate silhouette, to reinforce the big toe area.
As already demonstrated in the XA Elevate, this outsole, made of Premium Wet Traction Contagrip sticky rubber, features an excellent combination of versatility, durability and traction. It has undoubtedly become one of the most outstanding soles in Salomons catalog. Its carbon edges are directly related to the model S / Lab XA Alpine that is very beneficial to protect you against possible rocks that you find in the mountainous terrain.
The midsole follows the pattern of the S / Lab XA Alpine with a dual density EVA rubber to provide a light and effective tread from the first kilometer in these Salomon X Alpine Pro.
At the moment we do not know the official release date. The brand has presented them for 2019. They have announced their weight, 300 g (US 9) for men and 270 g (US W7) for women. The drop has been set at only 6 mm. This may be one of the best high-end shoes that we will see in Salomon in the coming years, we will have to take it into account the mountain runners.
