Upper of the Salomon XA Enduro shoe

One of the main details in the upper of these shoes is that they have an integrated gaiter, which allows a more secure fit, and prevents loose materials that we find on the road to slip inside, and that these derive in physical problems. It is important to mention that this gaiter has a fairly wide opening, and that it seeks to better adapt to those with a wider ankle contour, although it will fulfill its function well also for runners with thin ankles.

Because the shoes are designed for challenging terrain, they feature a 9 drop midsole. The ADVANCED chassis plate gives the midsole more support and the rubber material chosen by Salomon for the construction of this allows an excellent response in cushioning to keep the feet protected in trail terrain; a detail of this rubber is that it will also allow us to print some speed to the race without the feet feel heavy due to excessive use of rubber.

Between the outsole and the midsole is the Profeel Film system that we have already seen in other Salomon editions. The purpose of this layer of material is to offer extra protection for the sole of the feet, preventing the midsole from being damaged in the event of encountering sharp material.

Since its first uses of Contagrip material, Salomon has been perfecting its compound to achieve one of the best materials available on the market. The Salomon XA Enduro uses a combination of rubber used in its two most famous shoes: the Contagrip Premium Wet Traction of the Alpine and the rubber compound of the S-LAB SENSE.

This results in a rubber that will allow us to traverse dry terrain with great efficiency, but also performs very well in wet terrain.
